4/1: Prior Auth Removal

Effective April 1, 2026, participating Superior and Ambetter providers will no longer need prior authorization for certain services and procedure codes.

Transition Details for Auths and Claims

Wellcare By Superior HealthPlan began providing coverage for dual-eligible members (who have both Medicaid and Medicare under one health plan) on 1/1. Providers can review one member ID card and one combined explanation of payment for Medicare and Medicaid services.

Superior HealthPlan offers STAR, STAR+PLUS, STAR Kids, STAR Health (foster care), CHIP, CHIP Perinate, Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan, Ambetter Health Solutions, Wellcare By Allwell (HMO and HMO DSNP), Wellcare By Superior HealthPlan (Dual Align) and Wellcare.

To ensure a member’s health is not compromised, providers are required to have their contact and demographic information up-to-date. Providers should notify Superior of any changes, if they can no longer accept new patients or are leaving the network. Update Your Information Here
